The photo of the only foreign trip of Reza Shah (the first King of Pahlavi dynasty), is on exhibit in People and Art Museum.

There is a collection of Reza Shah`s photos from 1920 to 1941 in this museum that one of them belongs to the Mostafa Kamal Atatork`s ceremony on the occasion of the first Pahlavi`s presence in Ankara.

This photo which is 70*100, black and white and printed on canvas, shows Reza Shah, Atatork and his wife & daughter and some other guests.

Travelling to Turkey, the only foreign trip of Reza Shah

From among the world`s leaders, Reza Shah was the first one who congratulated Atatork for changing Turkey`s government and donated him a Quran and an inlaid sword in 1923, this made the relationship of the countries friendly and matey.

On June 2, 1934, Reza Shah with a military board of 17 people started travelling to Turkey. The board included: Bagher Kazemi ( the Foreign Minister), Hossein Samiei (the Local Emcee), Hossein Shokooh.( the Head of Special Office), Qareguzlu (the Emcee), Amir Amanullah Jahanbani, General Abdul-Reza Afkhami, Brigadier Sadeq Kopal, Colonel Hassan Arfa, Captain Mahmud Khosravani, Captain Hosseinqoli Esfandiari, Captain Abdullah Zelly, Captain Ali Asghar Mazini, lieutenant  Mohsen Qadimi, Abbas Forouhar (Formalities Deputy of Foreign Ministry), Hossein Ghodsi ( the secretary o Foreign Ministry),Yusof  Shokrani ( from the court) and  Asadullah Arfa (the Head of Secret Section of  Army).

They stayed 38 days in Turkey and visited the Presidential Building, Foreign Ministry and the parliament of Turkey, barracks,  the air, sea and land parade, the fortifications of Dardanelles and Bosphorus straits, palaces of Ottoman Sultans, vanguard schools and several dance and music party.

Travelling to Turkey caused a profound effect on Reza Shah; therefore he forced all the women to lift the veil and made Iranian Muslim people hating him. He did it by force, kept no choice for women and older & traditional women felt nudity and they virtually were confined at home.
